“On behalf of the Maryland Democratic Party I wish to express our deepest sympathies to the family, friends and colleagues of Bill Gwatney. In addition to years of public service and noted accomplishment as a member of the Arkansas State Senate, he was at the time of his death, Chair of the Arkansas Democratic Party. This is a tragic loss for Arkansas and the country. The family of this young husband and father will remain in our thoughts and prayers.”
